School Savvy Clubs are run by an Occupational Therapist and incorporate:
- Write Now! Club – Size Matters Handwriting Program (SMHP) claims to be the most efficient way to promote printing consistency and competence. The key concepts help children know what they’re aiming for and how to get there. The program claims that changes in legibility happen immediately and dramatically. Succeed Healthcare Solutions uses the principles of SMHP, as well as elements of Handwriting Without Tears which focuses on letter formation. - Primary School Readiness Club with various packages according to need. Packages include self-care and independence; pre-writing, literacy and numeracy skills; pre-scissor skills; matching and recognising skills; strength and endurance skills; behaviour and social skills; information technology; visual supports and more. Ages 3-5.
- High School Readiness Club. Topics include celebrating success, choosing a high school, developing a transition plan, identifying your child’s learning style, developing a meaningful Individual Education Plan, getting ready each day, setting up a mentor system and more. Grades 4-6.
- School Buddies Club – our Therapy Assistants (‘School Buddies’) implement therapy programs in the community where it matters most – at kinder/school/university, at home or out and about. They work under the direction of our Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist and Nutritionist to assist young people to achieve their goals.
