PEERS for Careers Club

An estimated 53.4% of young adults with Autism have worked since high school, with only 33.6% currently employed. We want to help turn those statistics around.

PEERS for Careers is suitable for young people who are interested in acquiring job-related, social, and practical skills with the aim of a successful transition from educational to employment settings. During PEERS for Careers, participants will be supported by their Career Coach (ie. parent/carer/support person) for support to practice and generalise the skills learnt.

The skills covered in the 20 x 1.5 hour session program include:

  • Choosing a career
  • Creating a resume
  • Finding and applying for employment
  • Electronic communication
  • Understanding/navigating the workplace culture
  • Conversational skills
  • Interviewing etiquette
  • Entering and exiting group conversations
  • Humour in the workplace
  • Stress management/executive functioning skills
  • Conflict resolution.

*Whilst awaiting the full research study results to be released by UCLA, we offer an adapted version of PEERS for Careers for young people aged 16-35 with Autism, deficit/hyperactivity disorder, anxiety, or depression.

*Private hourly individual rate is $195. NDIS hourly individual rate is $193.99. Cost for the group Program of Support will average about $170 per hour including a complete customer experience tailored to your young persons' needs (break down of fee schedule to be provided upon enquiry).
