PEERS for Success: Dating North Lakes, Social Development, Career Guidance, and Life Skills

Embark on a journey of self-discovery with PEERS for Success Clubs. Our programs aim to foster relationships, build social skills, provide career guidance, and promote physical fitness. Led by experienced occupational therapists, neurological physiotherapists, Allied Health Assistants, or online learning, we offer tailored support for teens and adults.

PEERS for Preschoolers (Ages 4-6)

Based on UCLA’s acclaimed curriculum, this 16-week parent-assisted program helps young children build social skills through puppet shows, games, and interactive activities. Parents receive coaching to support friendships at home.

Program Options:

  1. Therapist-Led Program
    • Structured 16-week program with hands-on coaching.
  2. Parent-Guided
    • Video learning with therapist-supported practice.
  3. Online Self-Paced Course
    • Flexible video lessons with optional support.

PEERS for Adolescents (Ages 13-17)

Based on UCLA‘s acclaimed curriculum, this 14-session program has been shown in the research to improve social skills and confidence, with optional sessions focused on dating.

Choose the level of support that fits your family’s needs and budget:

  1. Therapist-Led Program
    • A 14-session premium program based on UCLA’s renowned curriculum.
    • Improves social skills and confidence, with optional sessions on dating.
  2. Boot Camp
    • Video sessions by Dr. Elizabeth Laugeson (Love on the Spectrum), paired with live practice led by Allied Health Assistants.
    • Optional therapist-led top-up sessions available.
  3. Online Self-Paced Course
    • Flexible video sessions to complete at home.
    • Optional support from Allied Health Assistants or therapists available.

Ideal for teens looking for premium, therapist-led guidance in a supportive environment. 

PEERS for Young Adults (Ages 18-35+)

A 16-session UCLA-based program to enhance social and professional skills, including optional dating dynamics.

PEERS for Dating North Lakes (Ages 13-35+)

A 5-session course focused on healthy dating behaviours and managing dating challenges.

Walk/Jog/Gym Club

A fitness-focused club helping participants build social and emotional skills through guided activities.

Level Up Lab

In the Level Up Lab, teens and adults engage in self-directed activities such as robotics, 3D printing, drones and nerf battles. These activities can help build social and executive functioning skills, with real-time guidance from therapists. Cooperative Virtual Reality (VR) games may be used at the end of sessions to further build teamwork skills. 

LifeHacks Pro

Learn essential life skills like budgeting, daily living, cooking and driving preparation.

PEERS for Careers

Offering career guidance, job preparation, and collaboration with disability employment providers.

Gottman Method for Relationships

Aim to strengthen relationships and deepen connections using evidence-based techniques from the Gottman Method. Ideal for addressing relationship challenges early or maintaining strong bonds.  

 

Please be aware, the driving readiness skills in Lifehacks Pro is not an Occupational Therapy Driving Assessment and Rehabilitation Program. It is an off-road therapy program that uses the context of preparing for driving lessons to facilitate progress towards meaningful and functional therapy goals.
